About me

Some things about me

My Story

My name is Daniel Medina Neira. I was born and grew up in Arequipa, Peru. Practicing sports was the most important thing for me for most of my life, but now my priority is studying medicine. I have always had a lot of interests.

I am a physician. I finished medical school in 2023 and am currently doing my SERUMS in the Salinas Moche health post (“Puesto de Salud Salinas Moche”), where I am working as the head physician. I started working here in May 2024, and I will finish this job in September 2025.

What I am working on

  • Learning new things to be a great physician.
  • Research: I am working on some research projects. This is something I find difficult, but I am still trying.
  • YouTube channel: I have the YouTube channel DaniMedi about things related to studying, medicine, some programs like Anki, and some things related to research. You could check it out.
  • SERUMS: right now I am doing the SERUMS (rural service).

Other stuff

  • Doing exercise: sports were the center of my life for a long time, right now they are not but I still do exercise every day.
  • Programming: I love R, and I like to use this programming language to automate some things and try to do some projects, like working with APIs to create Anki decks to learn the basic vocabulary for different languages and other projects.
  • Writing: I like writing poems, short stories, and some other writings.
  • I also have many other interests and skills, and I try to do them sometimes, however, I have to say that time seems short sometimes.
